Description
For your consideration a beautifully restored Teac X10R Reel-to-Reel Tape Deck.   The X10R is a full 3 motor - 6 Head Recorder - Record & Play in Forward and Reverse at either 3¾ IPS or 7½ IPS. This is one the latest and greatest Teac semi-pro decks built in the early 80’s.   Seperate EQ & Bias Adjustments User adjustable Pitch Adjustment- great feature for playing back tapes recorded on another machine Quality Record/Playback Heads Selectable 7 in or 10 in reel size. This is a stereo recorder (not mono as some have listed) You can playback mono.   This deck has been fully restored and in perfect 100% operational condition. No tape path wear. The pinch rollers are like new. Servicing means more than just replacing the belt:   Belt replacement Lubrication of all guides and rollers Recondition the pinch rollers and linkage Check head alignment De-gauze heads and tape path Check and adjust tape tension Check and adjust output Clean and lubricate all switches and potentiometers Clean and Polish faceplate and transport (look at the reel tables) Includes a beautifully refinished wood case. I applied real wood veneers and 3 coats of poly, hadrubbed to a funiture like finish. Please read my feedback to see what other buyers are saying about my tape-decks.   I'll include the 7 in tape so can you get this beautiful machine just hook it up, plug it in and start enjoying the rich, full analog music. I don't have any NAB hubs with this machine.   I will provide the new owner a complete operation & service manual for the tape deck. (PDF File on CD)   The rich, analog sound this Teac X-10R produces is closest to actual sound recorded as you will get in any other brand tape deck. Two speeds, 3 3/4 IPS and 7 1/2 IPS for true to life analog recording! Music and voice recorded at any speed lower than 7 1/2 IPS is flat, muffled and full of background hiss on ANY tape recorder, but true "sit down, relax and enjoy music" must be recorded at 7 1/2 IPS or faster for true enjoyment. Higher speed path across the tape heads means higher quality audio. However, this top of the line Teac X-10R has such maximum quality recording heads and playback circuitry slower tape speeds out perform other brand decks running at their fastest speed! Recording from a CD will actually make the CD sound warm and with so much richness the music will jump out at you! Hint - I have found that if you process a CD with a vintage processor (Pioneer RG-1 or RG-2, etc.) prior to transfer you can actually get back most of the mid-ranges lost in digital music.   *** Shouldn’t a tape deck look as great as it performs? ***   The optional wood case is refinished in natural walnut to match other components of the era.  Pictures don't do it justice, just beautiful.   Cosmetically the faceplate is perfect, I hesitate to use the word "mint" but this one is, you will be hard pressed to find a better one. Proudly displayed it will be a real attention getter.    This is a vintage piece of electronics, so it is being sold “as is” with no implied warranty other than it is guaranteed not to be DOA and as I described. It is been around for 25 years and working like new so there is no reason, with proper care & maintenance the buyer will not enjoy it another 25 years and then pass it on. Check out my feedback: I sell not only great performing, but great looking equipment and buy with confidence.   NOTE: I am so confident you will love this machine I will guarantee it for 3 days to operate as designed or I will refund the purchase price. This guarentee excludes any and all shipping and transportation damage of course.   Shipping & packing will be calculated at the close of auction based on zip code. I will  Remember this is a heavy unit, over 60lbs. (packed). I do not inflate handling & shipping charges. Shipping insurance is a must. What I pay is what you pay. I will ship properly packed using a new heavy duty box with building grade foam protection, I add a $10.00 handling charge to cover the cost of packing materials. (PS: A lot of tape tecks I purchase are damaged in some way because of improper packing)   If you are in the market for one the best reel machines this is it.   Payment is requested within 3 days of commitment to buy - Thanks for looking
