In thisSimul-Sync mode an artist can play 1 instrument, record it, then return and record 3 more differentinstruments. Upon playback, the 4 tracks (channels) will synchronize to sound as if the artist played all 4 instruments at the same time. This can also be used to build different sound effects tracksif you work with audio sound effects. The greatest feature of this Simul-Sync capability on this deckis that you can, at any time, return to erase only 1 track at a time without disturbing the others. So ifsome tracks on your recording are very good and some are not, you can improve the poor ones without damaging the original good tracks.  A simple switch on the front panel changes this deck to work as a more common 2 channelstereo home consumer style deck. You can properly play back  (4T) quarter-track, two channel stereo tapes(7.5ips or 15ips) from your tape library.This tape deck will  also correctly playback discrete 4 channel Quadraphonic tapes.The A-3340S has : 3 heads, erase, record, play - this allows real-time tape monitor during recording       4 track Quadraphonic and 2 channel stereo compatible heads 3 heavy duty motors -  2 reel motors, 1 capstan motor 2  HIGH speeds  15ips & 7.5ips4  microphone inputs with individual volume controls4 line input controls4 line output controls     (Note - mic/line mixing is available on each of the 4 tracks.)4 tape/source monitor switches - used to compare the input signal to the      recorded signal while the tape is running 4 quality VU meters4 record enable switches - this lets choose which tracks you want to record onto        without disturbing the other previously recorded tracks1    2 channel / 4 channel switch 4 positions Bias and Eq switches ( 2 positions each switch) 4 digit tape counter 120 V/60 Hzreel size : 1/4" width reels up to 10.5" diameter    This deck has a connector on the backside for an optional  wired remote control. there is no remote control included but they are commonly available on ebay. (RC-120)   I am a licensed, experienced, trained audio electronics technician who workedas a TEAC factory authorized service tech for about 20 years. So I am very familiarwith their tape decks and have professionally serviced hundreds and hundredsof TEAC and TASCAM open reel tape recorders between 1978 and today. I usethis experience to properly repair and service all the tape decks I sell.   I have completely serviced this tape deck and it is in fine working order. ALL functions work properly. I have cleaned and re-lubricated the tape transportmechanism and installed  a fresh new capstan belt. I have cleaned and de-magnetized the head block assembly and checked for proper industry standardalignment with fresh new factory alignment tapes. I disassembled and cleaned and re-lubed the pinch roller solenoid mechanism assembly for many more years oftrouble free operation. This machine will work correctly right out of the box. I alsohave extensive experience in packing securely to make sure this tape deck arrivessafely in its new home.After the sale I support you with technical advice as you learn to use its features and have questions that are not clarified in an owner's manual which comes with this deck.I take pride in the work I do.I also only work for myself anymore.
