So I am very familiarwith their tape decks and have professionally serviced hundreds and hundredsof TEAC and TASCAM open reel tape recorders between 1978 and today. I usethis experience to properly repair and service all the tape decks I sell.This listing is for the model Tascam 32    shown in the photos below. These photos areof the actual unit you are bidding on.  The  model  32    is the 2 Track / Half Trackmodel within the TASCAM series which is the TEAC Professional Series. These were built and sold in the mid and late 1980's .The model 32  is a  2 channel stereo half- track model using 1/4" width tape stock.This is the common format found on professional audio studio and radio station type tapes . This model is fully solenoid operated and includes features which make it an excellent choice for high fidelity home listening. This tape deck will accept all sizesopen reels up to the large 10.5" diameter reels.For RECORD, this tape deck will record left and right channel on twotracks forward direction. Separate record switches enable either left or right orboth channels to be erased and/or recorded. There are 2 microphone input jacks on the front , plus two RCA style line input jacks on the rear . There are separate L & R level input controlsfor recording adjustments. In addition there are 2 separate playback volume controls to adjust left and right channels.This machine can be a great investment for the  audio enthusiast looking for professional performance. It's high quality design and build,  rewards with years of reliable service. This specific one is in good condition, with very good heads and everything works very well.After the sale I support you with technical advice as you learn to use its features and have questions that are not clarified in the copy of an owner's manual which comes with this deck.The Tascam 32 has: 3 heads, erase, record, play - this allows real-time tape monitor during recording 3 heavy duty motors -  2 reel motors, 1 capstan motor 2 speeds   15 ips & 7.5 ips variable speed control (pitch) for  fine adjustments around the standard 2 speeds edit control for tape spill large reel/ small reel tension switch 2 microphone inputs (1/4" phone style") 1 headphone input with variable volume control ( 1/4" stereo phone style ) 2 line input controls 2 line output controls     (Note - mic/line switching is available on each of the 2 tracks.)3 output  select switches - used to compare the input signal to the      recorded signal while the tape is running Sync switch capabability allows  recording one new channel alongside an old channel. 2 quality VU meters 2 record enable switches - this lets choose which tracks you want to record onto        without disturbing the other previously recorded tracks  4 digit tape counter    This deck has a connector on the backside for an optional remote control. there is no remote control included but they are commonly available on ebay.    I have completely serviced this tape deck and it is in fine working order. ALL functions work properly. I have cleaned and re-lubricated the tape transportmechanism and installed  a fresh new capstan belt. I have cleaned and de-magnetized the head block assembly and checked for proper industry standardalignment with fresh new factory alignment tapes. I disassembled and cleaned and re-lubed the pinch roller solenoid mechanism assembly for many more years oftrouble free operation. This machine will work correctly right out of the box. I alsohave extensive experience in packing securely to make sure this tape deck arrivessafely in its new home.I take pride in the work I do.I also only work for myself anymore.
