This unit appears to be part of the Professional Series of Sansui amplifiers as seen in this excerpt from a brochure below. Looking at the back panel jacks and I see similarities to the CA-3000 preamp with the vertically-facing RCA jacks. This unit is international voltage ready - voltage selector on back. This amp has an extremely detailed high end and punchy accurate low end. The high end is so crisp that I don't find the multiple-setting loudness switch is necessary as low listening levels. Black brushed aluminum faceplate is very classy. Solid construction, huge transformer. They certainly don't make them like this anymore. Connections for four speakers! Pre/main separable! This unit has been restored.. The power supply electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with highly regarded Panasonic FC capacitors. The signal path capacitors have been replaced with Nichicon Muse ES bipolars for values greater than 1uF and Vishay Polypropylene or Panasonic ECQ-P for values under 1uF. Polar signal path caps were replaced using Nichicon Fine Gold. Very detailed capacitors. New Vishay/Roederstein Metal Film Polypropylene capacitors were added to the main power supply caps which were also replaced themselves. These provide a lower impedance over the mid to high frequencies than the electrolytic caps would alone. This gives a much quieter, stiffer supply at all frequencies, giving you lower distortion. Switches and controls were cleaned and lubricated using Caig DeOxit and ProGold as appropriate. DC Offset and bias adjusted to specifications Signal traced through unit from input jacks to speaker posts one stage at a time to insure a consistant signal without trouble spots. Fuses were replaced Omron relay was upgraded to brand new higher amperage version Faceplate and knobs were removed and cleaned with cleaning solution and a toothbrush. Original Sanken ouputs were removed, cleaned and reinstalled with new thermal grease. Original Sansui service manual included. Unit burned-in post-restoration for over a week of daily use. This unit is in outstanding condition physically, functionally and sonically. Cosmetics: The unit is in great cosmetic condition. The faceplate and lettering are near perfect. I give it a 9/10.The noticible blemishes are light scuffing on the top or the unit. The knobs are in fantastic condition. This unit will be expertly packed. Buyer to pay actual shipping.
