THIS ITEM HAS NEVER BEEN OPENED - IT IS NEW IN THE BOX!!!     This item is an Altec Model 288-16G High-Frequency Compression Driver. If you know Altec HF drivers, you know how wonderful these sound. Used in the finest Voice of the Theatre systems, this is THE big Altec driver to have!     Considered by audiophiles who know to be the BEST large-format Altec HF driver ever made, the Altec Model 288-16G was the culmination of 30 years of Altec's experience in designing compression drivers, and uses the largest Alnico magnet ever used by them in a large-format unit, thus making it the most efficient 288 Altec ever made.     In addition, the Model 288-16G utilized Altec's (then) new Tangerine Radial Phasing System, which improved HF performance considerably over older versions of the 288. It can be used on any Altec HF horn with a 1.4-inch aperture, such as their multicellular and Mantaray horns, their 311-series sectoral horns, or any other horn with a 1.4-inch aperture.     FEATURES:     * New-in-the-box!
