Design Philosophy - Start with the classic, universally agreed great sounding, Ultralinear Push Pull EL84 output transformer from the Dynaco ST-35 and SCA-35 amplifier. Use Ultralinear output stage design because it offers most of the sound of a triode tube with more available power - 17 Watts Per Channel - amplifier accommodates a wide choice of speakers. Use the vintage 7189 output tube (when available) or the Sovtek EL84M output tube because they sound great and are reasonably priced. Reduce the price by using a plain aluminum chassis for lowest cost. One of the most expensive parts of a tube amplifier is the chassis, and the chassis has no effect on amplifier's sound. Use dual mono block construction for maximum performance of each channel.
