Thank you These were my deceased brothers equipment. They are in ABSOLUTE MINT condition. I am sorry for the quality of my pictures. Please rest assured the stock fotos are exactly how they look. I am selling these items as i have no use for this type of high end equipment. Please see my recent feedback with audiophile items sold from his estate. I would prefer you pick these items up in person as they are irreplaceable and i will not be responsible for any damage if shipped . On the other hand ,if shipped, they will be professionally packed by a service and insurance is a must. Please note....the weight of these two items are in excess of 90 lbs Worldwide bidders please contact me before you bid so i can find out the shipping cost for you unless you wish to make some special arrangements THERE ARE NO RETURNS . PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD OR PAYPAL ONLY NO CHECKS Thank You Dr. Carrie Below are the specs for both Luxman C-05Luxman M-05(1982 - 1988+) In the mid 1970s and early 1980s Luxman came to prominence of the world hi-fi community due to the quality of sound of their equipment. Luxman were primarily specialists in making vacuum tube amplifiers of the highest calibre. In most cases Luxman designed equipment combined the quality and warmth of vacuum tube sound with powerful electronics and often beautiful aesthetic designs. Pre and Power amps such as the Luxman C-05 and M-05 with their champagne gold finish, highest-calibre electrical designs (pure copper interconnects, Class A amp design, separately powered channels with dual AC cables, copper-plated chassis), beautiful sound and rock solid build became the dreams of audiophiles everywhere Luxman M 05, Class A, champagne Class A amplifier with 105 + 105 watts RMS into 8 Ohms. Massive and souvereign High End Amplifier that will last forever. The design, material and finish is perfect. You will not doubt that it was no "mass product". They play so sensitive, that you almost forget that this is a machine. It seems that they feel the music they play. Breathtaking Quite a long production run for these two biggies - almost Accuphase-like !First presented in October 1982 in Japan (as the "DAD" input recalls) as replacements for the C-300 and M-300. Still very good looks and, of course, typical LUX quality - but we already are in ALPINE ownership... Both units are dual-mono, with Duo-ß circuits, Plus-X power supplies and superlative componentry, housed in non-magnetic & copper-plated aluminum chassis, of course. The M-05 is a Class A design so it does double up as a room heater for the winter ; it can be used in BTL mode, too, but in Class AB. A special set of taps for electrostatic speakers is present, taking the shape of tiny little female plugs !CC or DC inputs are available along a 15Hz subsonic filter and an input attenuator which can be circumvented. The whole monster is powered with TWO AC cords and a triple push-pull of HiFt per channel feeds the speakers. No heat-pipes for the M-05 as too much heat is dissipated but 2 large fans located on the back convey fresh air from there, pushing it toward the top cover opening ; a three-position switch is present to choose fan speeds. 14/10/05: UPDATE!Thanks to Rick at AllegroSound for this enlightenment about the M-05's outputs:The Luxman M-05 has 2 sets of outputs:1. the standard outputs, using the clamp-connectors, are direct-coupled to the output devices,2. the female banana jacks, labled "electrostatics" have a Zobel network for added stability into reactive loads. The pre-production C-05 had a little twist:besides a phono and phono+subsonic input position which was carried onto the production model, the DAD/Aux input could also be switched with a subsonic. What subsonic-inducing warp could be present in a CD is anybody's guess :) That position was subsequently changed for a regular "line". Also, the third Phono 2 position was initially set at 47kOhm but later changed to 50kOhm Outputs:THD:S/N ratio:Inputs:Phono overload:Frequency response:Subsonic filter:PC:Dimensions:Weight: Twin-Monaural Configuration:Perfectly independent placement of two monaural amps makes all signal amplification circuits absolutely free from interferences across right and left channels. Huge, Quick-Response Power Supply:1-stage amp regulator on top of Lux's reputed "plus-X" power supply provides real time response even to an abrupt, large input signal. Thorough Improvement of Single-Stage Amplification:Purification in circuitry is further advanced and reinforced in Lux's exclusive "Single-Stage" amp format by means of high-speed semiconductors, thus realising TIM-free sound full of energetic sensation. Fixation of Standard Voltage for Each Amplification Section:Sonic deterioration is totally banished thanks to fixation of standard voltages secured by independent wirings of power supply, use of high-impedance circuitry, select constant voltage componentry, etc. 105W + 105W pure class "A" (8 ohms,20 - 20kHz, 0.005% THD), 300W mono by means of BTL (Duo-Alpha) connection. Purified sound reproduction is possible thanks to direct input system bypassing level setter volume. Large power meters with peak-hold, large output terminals, noise-free fan for effective heat-dissipation, etc. Class A power:BTL power:THD:S/N ratio:Inputs:Frequency response:Subsonic filter:PC:Dimensions:Weight:Features:Accessories: 2x 105W (20Hz...20kHz, 8Ohm, DIN)440W (20Hz...20kHz, 8Ohm, DIN)< 0,008% (20Hz...20kHz, rated output)> 120dB (IHF)1,2V / 45kOhm10Hz...100kHz (+0 / -0,5dB)15Hz / ?dB/oct.??46 x 21 x 43,7cm40kg.Dual-FET inputs inCascode-Bootstrap-Differential3x push-pull in Darlington config. pre-drivers3x push-pull HiFt driversBack-lit meters with Peak Hold functionSeparate taps for electrostatic speakersCC or DC inputs2 cooling fans with three speedsL and R input attenuatorsoptional rack handlesoptional wood enclosure Accessories: 1V / 32Ohm nominal ; 18V max.< 0,005% (MM, 1V output)< 0,01% (MC, 1V output)< 0,002% (line, 1V output)> 80dB (MC, IHF-A, 250µV input)> 90dB (MM, IHF-A, 5mV input)> 110dB (line, IHF-A)phono MC (100µV / 50Ohm or 100Ohm)phono MM (2mV / 50kOhm)tuner / aux / DAD (150mV / 47kOhm)250mV (1kHz, RMS)20Hz...20kHz (±0,2dB, phono)2Hz...100kHz (±0,5dB, line)??17W max Click the images below for the respective specs and more!
