The design is based on powerful yet linear KT90 tubes operated in either the 100W Ultralinear or 50W triode mode. The higher power Ultralinear mode provides higher driving power for harder to driver speakers while the lower power triode mode is ideal for speakers with easier load and a warmer sound. Other tubes used in the amps are 6SL7 and 6SN7 operated in class-A triode mode. Both top-performing small-signal and driver tubes.
